A1 to close this weekend while new bridge is installed Drivers are being advised that the A1 in North Yorkshire will be closed for 34 hours this weekend as Fort Bridge, near Catterick Racecourse, is replaced as part of the A1 Leeming to Barton major road scheme. The original Fort Bridge was demolished last November to allow space for an extra lane to be added to the road as part of the major upgrade to the A1. Afternoon Tea in aid of the over 55's In memory of Helen Doherty Afternoon Tea will be served in  Colburn Village Hall 2pm to 4pm  £3.00 per head.   Take away's available.   All proceeds will go to The Helen Doherty Defibrillator Fund a very worth while cause.  Please come and support this charity afternoon, a raffle and tombola will be taking place so come and try your luck too.  See you there, Well worth it. .
